Via Krupp

Suspended between the rock and the sea

Considered by many to be the most beautiful pedestrian street in the world, Via Krupp is not just a simple path, but a masterpiece nestled into the cliffside. This iconic zigzagging path begins on the flower-filled terraces of the Gardens of Augustus (just minutes from the center) and gently winds down to the turquoise waters and beaches of Marina Piccola .

Route details:
  • Starting point: Gardens of Augustus

  • Arrival point: Marina Piccola

  • Distance: About 1.3 kilometers (just under 2,000 steps down)

  • Travel time: 15-20 minutes of pure wonder, overcoming 100 meters of altitude difference without any effort.

Why do it?

Because it's the very essence of the island. You don't need to be an expert hiker: unlike the steep steps of Capri, Via Krupp is a paved path with no steps, where a sequence of very narrow and spectacular switchbacks follows the bare rock. On the descent, the maritime pines part like natural curtains overlooking a sea of indescribable blue, offering you unforgettable photographic views.

Take your time, let the breeze caress you, and get ready: at the end of the descent, the luxury of the most beautiful dive of your life awaits you.
