Capri's Piazzetta isn't just a place. It's a ritual.
The people of Capri call it "'a chiazz." On official maps, it's Piazza Umberto I. To the rest of the world, it's simply La Piazzetta: the beating heart of the island, the place where everyone passes through sooner or later—monarchs, Hollywood actors, artists, travelers, and ordinary people. A few square meters of stone and wicker tables capture all the charm of Capri.

How to get there: Funicular from Marina Grande (4 minutes), or bus from Anacapri
Entrance: free (it is a public square, always open)
A coffee at a table: about 8 euros; an aperitif: about 15 euros
Best time: Early morning (authentic island life) or after 7pm (social atmosphere)
Not to be missed: the Clock Tower, the bell tower that is the symbol of the square, and the staircase leading to the Cathedral of St. Stephen (17th century)
